Ogungbemi Afeez Congratulates Comrade Issy on National Appointment, Hails His Leadership Journey
The current NAMACOS Editorial Board Manager, Ogungbemi Afeez has feliciated with Comrade Oladeji Israel, popularly known as Issy, on his appointment as Director of Strategic Engagement from the office of the Secretary of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), describing the development as a well-deserved recognition of years of dedication, resilience, and service to the student movement.
In a congratulatory message, Afeez reflected on Issy's remarkable journey at Osun State Polytechnic, Iree (OSPOLY), where he rose through the ranks of student leadership. He recalled that before contesting for the position of Students' Union Government (SUG) President, Issy had served as the Departmental President of the Mass Communication Department, School of Daily Part-Time Studies, earning the respect and admiration of students through his commitment to representation and welfare.
Afeez further noted that Issy's political movement during the SUG election period was built around the principles of Consultation, Consolidation, and Confrontation. According to him, although the desired outcome was not achieved during the election, Issy remained steadfast in his commitment to student advocacy, proving that true leadership extends beyond electoral victories.
He described the NANS appointment as evidence that perseverance and hard work never go unnoticed. "Issy's emergence at the national level is a testament to his capacity, dedication, and unwavering belief in the ideals of Aluta. His story serves as an inspiration to many young activists who continue to work tirelessly for the betterment of students," Afeez stated.
Also joining in the celebration was EDM Olaoye Emmanuel, former Senior Reporter of the NAMACOS Editorial Board, who congratulated Issy on the achievement and commended his consistency in leadership and service. Both Afeez and Emmanuel expressed confidence in his ability to excel in the new role and wished him a successful tenure as he takes on greater responsibilities in advancing the interests of Nigerian students.
