UCL Quarter-Finals Set as Real Madrid, Bayern Renew Rivalry
The quarter-final line-up for the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League has been confirmed following the conclusion of the Round of 16 on Wednesday, with several high-profile fixtures set to headline the next stage of the competition. Among the standout ties is another heavyweight meeting between European giants Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, while Barcelona will face fellow Spanish side Atlético Madrid in an all-LaLiga showdown.
Three Spanish clubs — Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atlético Madrid — progressed to the last eight, underlining Spain’s strong presence in this season’s competition. The remaining quarter-finalists are Sporting CP, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Bayern Munich, completing a line-up packed with former champions and continental contenders.
According to UEFA, the first-leg matches will be played on Tuesday, April 7, and Wednesday, April 8, 2026. Sporting CP will host Arsenal at the Estádio José Alvalade in Lisbon, while Real Madrid welcome Bayern Munich to the Santiago Bernabéu. On April 8, Barcelona will take on Atlético Madrid at the Spotify Camp Nou, while Paris Saint-Germain will host Liverpool at the Parc des Princes in Paris.
The return legs are scheduled for Tuesday, April 14, and Wednesday, April 15. Atlético Madrid will host Barcelona at the CÃvitas Metropolitano, while Liverpool face Paris Saint-Germain at Anfield on April 14. A day later, Arsenal will welcome Sporting CP to the Emirates Stadium and Bayern Munich will host Real Madrid at the Allianz Arena. UEFA’s official schedule states that all quarter-final matches will kick off at 21:00 CET.
The winners of the quarter-finals will advance to the semi-finals, which are scheduled for April 28/29 and May 5/6, with the final set for Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest, Hungary. UEFA has also confirmed the semi-final pathway, with the winners of Paris Saint-Germain vs Liverpool facing either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich, while the winners of Barcelona vs Atlético Madrid will meet either Sporting CP or Arsenal.
