Accord Party Wins First Reported Polling Unit in Osogbo
The Accord Party has recorded the first reported victory at a polling unit in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, as counting gets underway in the 2026 governorship election.
The result emerged after officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) concluded voting, sorting and counting at Polling Unit 39, Ward 4, in Osogbo Local Government Area.
The development marks one of the early results from the governorship poll, with attention now focused on the collation of results from other polling units across Osogbo and the state's 30 local government areas.
The election features a closely watched contest involving incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Bola Oyebamiji and African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate Najeem Salaam, among others.
As results continue to emerge, voters, political parties and observers are awaiting the official collation by INEC, which will determine the overall outcome of the Osun governorship election.
