INEC Resumes Collation of Osun Governorship Election Results
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has resumed the collation and announcement of results from the Osun State governorship election held on Saturday, August 15, 2026. The exercise is taking place at the state collation centre in Osogbo following the conclusion of voting across the state’s 30 local government areas.
The announcement of results commenced at about 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, with INEC releasing results from 17 local government areas before the collation centre temporarily went on break. Proceedings have since resumed as electoral officials continue to receive and collate results from the remaining local government areas.
The collation represents a crucial stage in the electoral process, with party agents, observers and other stakeholders present at the centre as INEC verifies and announces the figures submitted from the various local government areas. The commission had earlier commenced the upload of polling-unit results to its Result Viewing (IReV) portal following the close of voting.
With the race closely watched across Osun State, attention remains focused on the official figures being announced by INEC. Advocacy Media Hub/OsunDecides2026 will continue to provide timely updates from the collation process as the commission proceeds toward the final declaration of the winner.
