OsunDecides2026: Adeleke Wins 19 LGAs as Oyebamiji Takes 11

Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party has won 19 of Osun State’s 30 Local Government Areas, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, has secured 11 LGAs, according to results announced during the ongoing collation of the 2026 governorship election.

Adeleke recorded his widest margin in Ede South, where he polled 26,188 votes against Oyebamiji’s 6,219. He also secured Ede North with 35,427 votes to the APC candidate’s 10,283. In Osogbo, Adeleke garnered 36,480 votes against Oyebamiji’s 30,474, while he also won Ife East and retained Iwo.

Oyebamiji, however, recorded victories in several LGAs, including Irewole, where he polled 29,972 votes against Adeleke’s 10,934. He also won Boripe, Ilesa East, Obokun, Irepodun, Atakumosa West, Atakumosa East, Isokan, Ola-Oluwa, Ife South and Olorunda.

Adeleke’s victories covered Ede South, Ede North, Osogbo, Iwo, Ife East, Ife Central, Ife North, Ilesa West, Ila, Oriade, Odo Otin, Ifelodun, Egbedore, Ayedaade, Ayedire, Orolu, Ejigbo, Ifedayo and Boluwaduro. The results indicate that Adeleke has retained several areas that formed part of his support base in the 2022 election, while the APC has made gains in other parts of the state.

However, the figures remain subject to the completion of the statutory collation process by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The report noted that the results should not be regarded as the final statewide declaration until INEC formally concludes the process and announces the winner.
